Marine Rescue NSW received $164,080 through Round 3 of the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund program for the Marine Rescue Tower Upgrade Project.
This project replaced the building’s unsafe viewing platform and stairs, removed concrete cancer, repaired and painted the building and upgraded the radio mast. This community amenity has been enhanced by facilitating the public use of this infrastructure, improving safety and reinforcing emergency operations. The Rescue Tower is operated by 25 volunteers 24 hours a day seven days a week, covering the area from Sydney to Eden..
This project was completed in December 2019 .
